| Traditional Music from Central Java. Gamelan is a musical ensemble or orchestra which originated from Indonesia. Their instruments vary and mostly percussions such as bamboo xylophones, metal or wooden chimes and gongs. The term "gameland" is also used to refer to either the set of instruments making up ensemble, or the players of those instruments at any given time.There are varieties of gameland ensembles some of them include solo and choral voices, strings and wind instruments but the most notable are the gamelan ensembles compose entirely of bamboo-keyed instruments.
